St Lucia Juniors win big in Bequia!

Bequia Regatta Report
Friday: Southside Bequia Race.
3hr long race in 15 to 20 knots of Easterly Wind.
2nd for most of the race until the final leg where the wind shifted in our favour right at the end, allowing us to take the win.
Saturday: United Insurance J24 3 Race Series
3 short races in 15-20 knots of shifty winds,
Came from behind to win in the first 2 races.
Lead the 3rd race from the start but couldn’t hold on after having some spinnaker problems which dropped us to fifth.
We still however managed to win the day with 7 pts.
Sunday: Lay day
Monday: Heineken 2 Race Challenge
2 Short races in 20+ knots and shifty winds
1st race: The most competitive race by far! In the end 5 boats had a photo finish with just 6 seconds between 1st and 5th. Bad attitude tied for 2nd only 1 second after the 1st boat.
2nd Race: Finished a hard fought 2nd after trailing in 4th position at one point in the race.
Overall after 6 races: 1st, 1st,1st, 5th, 2.5(tied for second), 2nd

Breaking News —– the guys took the J24 Class overall!! Congratulations Bad Attitude!!!!







SLYC Sailing Captain Fredric Sweeney and a team for youth sailors have won the United Insurance Cup in the Bequia Heineken Easter Regatta, winning 2 out of the 3 J24 races on Attitude, unofficially christened ‘Bad Attitude specially for Bequia!
